• Camera Placement and Focus: Review camera placements at least once a month to make sure there’s clear visibility for high-traffic and vulnerable areas like entrances, exits, and secluded spaces.
• Night Vision Functionality: Test your cameras’ night vision by viewing footage after dark to verify they’re capturing details clearly.
• Lighting Schedules: Use Sentinel’s lighting control to activate lights only when needed. This not only saves energy but also signals activity, discouraging unauthorised access. Motion-activated lighting near doors is ideal for maximising coverage.
Best Practice: Conduct a thorough CCTV and lighting check at the start of each month. Use the Sentinel app to adjust and monitor remotely for efficient management.

Secure and efficient access control is essential. Here’s how to manage access codes and permissions like a pro:
• Regular Code Updates: Monthly updates to tenant access codes minimise the risk of unauthorised access. Encourage tenants to reset their codes periodically, and make it easy by including step-by-step instructions.
• Time-Zone Scheduling: Take advantage of Sentinel’s time-zone feature to restrict facility access during specific hours. This is particularly useful for preventing unauthorised after-hours entry.
• Limit Floor Access: For multi-story facilities, use elevator control features to ensure that tenants can only access their designated floors. This maintains privacy and strengthens security.
Best Practice: Include a code update in your monthly reminder emails to tenants. This reinforces best practices and keeps security front-of-mind for them as well.
